Each of our church members have been provided with evangelism tools and are trained and encouraged to witness as a way of life. First Christian Church sponsors and participates throughout the year at Featherstone Canyon Christian Camp with church retreats as well as the summer camps for families, teens and children. First Christian Church is a current member of the National City Chamber of Commerce. We participate in civic functions as we reach out to the business community. Our church campus is the location for the community Head Start program and a distribution point for the San Diego Food Bank. The church evangelism CD is now online here! Men's Ministry The men meet every 1st and 3rd Saturday for a program, Bible study, prayer and fellowship. They have a breakfast on the 2nd Saturday of each month and then provide maintenance to the church campus. The Men's Ministry is the focus point for our church wide evangelism program. Women's Ministry One of the most active ministry teams in the church is the Women's Ministry. Meetings are held on the first and third Friday evenings of the month at various locations. This team is organized into three areas of responsibility: officers, standing committees and special events volunteers. The committees consist of: baptistery and communion preparation, flower arrangement, greeters/ushers, kitchen/pantry, music, nursery, photography, bulletin board, home Bible studies, church decorations, seniors/elderly visitation, missions, get well cards, games and bridal/baby showers. The special events volunteers oversee Valentine's Day, anniversary, bereavement, Easter, Mother's/Elderly Day, Father's Day, fundraisers/community outreach, Vacation Bible School, Trick or Truth, Thanksgiving, Christmas and Secret Sisters. Home Ministry Teams We have active men, women and teen ministry teams as well as small home meetings throughout the week. On the 1st, 3rd and 5th Fridays, the women meet in various homes for Bible study and prayer! The following are current meetings: Francisco's Bible Study, Mingindin's Bible Study, Petelo's Bible Study, Casteneda's Bible Study and the 13th Anniversary. |
